Release Notes 23.06
This document describes announcements and discontinuations in the feature scope of ix.Cloud. The next release 23.09 will be published on September 22, 2023.
Announcements
This section describes changes to existing features as well as the introduction of new features and services that were introduced as part of this release.
Price adjustment as of September 1, 2023
As part of market developments, Inventx is adjusting its price list for its ix.Cloud services for the first time in 7 years.
Pricing is adjusted dynamically and regularly in accordance with the provisions of the ix.Cloud - as is common with clouds in general. Our customers continue to benefit from the advantages of ix.Cloud flexibility and can use it consumption-based and freely without purchase obligations.
In accordance with the Pricing Changes chapter of the ix.Cloud Service Catalog, Inventx is increasing ix.Cloud prices effective September 1, 2023 due to exogenously driven factors (increases in HW/SW costs, electricity costs, and inflation).
Load Balancer Layer 4 as a Service
Ordering a Layer 4 Load Balancer will now be possible via Self-Service. This replaces the Ivanti Service Request for Layer 4 Load Balancer (see news entry).
Nesting of Resource Groups
To allow resources in the portal to be organized even more granularly, resource group nesting has been introduced (see news entry).
Adaptation of Release Documents
As previously announced at the ix.Cloud Community Meetup, the release documents have been updated. Details on the adjustments can be found in the news entry.
Disabling Console Connection
Console connection can now be disabled when ordering a Virtual Machine resource (see news entry).
Discontinuations
This section lists features and services that are being removed from the feature scope with this release.
Windows Server 2012R2
On October 10, 2023, the "Windows Server 2012R2" operating system reaches End-of-Life (see manufacturer link). On this date, Inventx will also discontinue support for all add-ons and thus also for the "Managed-OS" add-on on the Windows Server 2012R2 operating system.
All Managed DB instances based on the Windows Server 2012R2 operating system must be migrated by the customer to a newer version.
Hardware Type GPU
The "GPU" hardware type is being discontinued with release 23.06 and removed from the service catalog.
If needed, this can be set up via Generic Request and made available again as a managed service.
