This document describes announcements and discontinuations in the scope of services of ix.Cloud. The next release 23.12 will be published on December 22, 2023.
Announcements
This section describes changes to existing features as well as introductions of new functions and services that were introduced in the scope of this release.
Compliance Report
A Compliance Report is now available at https://portal.ixcloud.ch/reports/compliance. This report can only be executed by users who have been assigned the "Reports" role (formerly Billing) (see news entry).
Optimization File Storage Offering
The File Storage Service has been renewed and extended with automatic data tiering to a more cost-effective capacity tier (see news entry).
Resource Naming Rules
With a "Resource Naming Rule", a subscription administrator can enforce a uniform format or naming convention for resource names. Further details can be found in the news entry.
Custom Properties
"Custom Properties" allow resources to be enriched with user-defined metadata. Details on this extension can be found in the news entry.
Docs - Guides
The ix.Cloud Docs have been extended with the Guides section (news entry).
Discontinuations
This section lists functions and services that are being removed from the scope of services with this release.
Kubernetes Cluster
The Kubernetes Cluster Service is discontinued effective immediately and removed from the scope of ix.Cloud services. The 6-month notice period is waived as there is no active workload running on the service.
Windows Server 2012R2
On October 10, 2023, the operating system "Windows Server 2012R2" reaches End-of-Life (see manufacturer link). On this date, Inventx will also discontinue support for all add-ons and thus also for the "Managed-OS" add-on on the Windows Server 2012R2 operating system.
All Managed DB instances based on the Windows Server 2012R2 operating system must be migrated by the customer to a newer version.
RHEL 7 / CentOS 7
On June 30, 2024, the operating systems "Redhat Enterprise Linux 7" and "CentOS Linux 7" reach End-of-Life (see manufacturer link). On this date, Inventx will also discontinue support for all add-ons and thus also for the "Managed-OS" add-on on these operating systems.
All Managed DB instances based on the "Redhat Enterprise Linux 7" and "CentOS Linux 7" operating systems must be migrated by the customer to a newer version.
