Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 End Of Life discontinuation by end of February 2026

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 (RHEL7) has reached End of Life (EOL) status since June 2024. (Release Notes 23.09 | ix.Cloud Docs)

Security updates and regular patches are only provided as part of the Extended Life Cycle Support (ELS) phase. This phase ends on February 29, 2026 – from that point on, the operating system will no longer receive security or bug fix updates. Systems that continue to run RHEL7 should therefore be migrated to a supported version in a timely manner to avoid security and compliance risks.

CentOS 7 & 8 End Of Life

CentOS 7 and CentOS 8 reached End of Life (EOL) status in June 2024. (Release Notes 23.09 | ix.Cloud Docs)

Since then, the CentOS project has ceased providing security updates, bug fixes, or patches. Systems that continue to run CentOS 7 or 8 are potentially vulnerable to security vulnerabilities and should be migrated to a supported Linux distribution as soon as possible to ensure secure and stable operation.

Ransomware Protection
For the ransomware protection option, a VM with the corresponding software is installed in the customer's network. Depending on the load on the file shares, more than one VM may be necessary. The ransomware protection option is implemented in collaboration with ix.CRC for the customer. For the ransomware protection option, a VM with the corresponding software is installed in the customer's network. Depending on the load on the file shares, more than one VM may be necessary. The ransomware protection option is implemented in collaboration with ix.CRC for the customer. It is also technically possible with WORM volumes. Since WORM volumes are mostly used in connection with archive applications, a detailed analysis of the actions and their implications needs to be clarified. This can be implemented together with the customer upon request.
